Your child's brain on music
Did you know? Learning a musical instrument and foundation music education skills — such as clapping in time, singing in tune and moving to music — are some of the most complex cognitive activities the brain can undertake! They involve the auditory, motor and visual cortices communicating at an astonishingly fast rate, which help with
language development, executive skills and social skills development.
(Music Education Helps Children's Ability to Learn by Dr. Anita Collins)
Why does age or developmental level matter in music class?
Communication, motor skills, vocal ability, socio-emotional aptitude and attention span of a toddler compared to a pre-teen are worlds apart! Outside of a child's chronological age, each child is unique and some children unwrap their abilities differently to others. The good news is that music is for everyone; no matter what age/stage!
Caregivers play an important role
We love having parents around on the inside! Whether it is actively participating in our kid-friendly family music class or coming in at the end for their review in our music maker or versatile musician classes, parents/carers play an important role in class and at home.
Children's innate musicality can be developed once parents understand the pivotal role they play, then provide the environment in which their children can be successful.

Level I
Experience it all at the piano keys and give your child a solid foundation in musicianship as they will play songs by ear as well as by reading notation in different keys while fine tuning the singing voice, sight-sing, dance, compose, play musical games and much more than you'd ever do in a traditional piano class!
Level 2
In addition to playing the keyboards and tenor steelpan, we'll be drumming and dancing to nurture kids' rhythmic development, singing to nurture their tonal development, and echoing patterns to nurture their aural development as well as composing and musical dictation activities to lead the child to music literacy.
Level 3
Transposing their repertoire is encouraged as each new position is introduced. In addition to the wide ranging Classical and Folk repertoire, they'll also learn songs in our own musical culture including Parang, Calypso, Chutney and Soca.
