What to expect in Versatile Musician Lessons?

Sound before sight!  You learned to speak from hearing right? Therefore it's only natural to develop the musical ear before you start to express and read. It's important to connect the fingers and ears to the instrument.

Singing helps to develop sound awareness, a sense of pitch and identifying the notes more easily by ear.

Aural training  helps in understanding the elements of music including rhythm, pitch, harmony.

Mobile aids Students play alongside audio accompaniment on mobile devices which helps develop important listening skills and hand-ear-eye coordination.

E-learning Members only Area access with at home activities including music games, supplementary material and supporting videos.

There is a common misconception that in order to play music you need to read music and that music reading makes you more superior than the person who doesn't. Think about this, we never needed to learn to read to know how to speak right? While reading helps explain and expand knowledge of principles, and yes we read in class too, this expanded knowledge can also be achieved through an aural approach which is more natural and allows for greater flexibility.  After all, music always existed its oral/aural form and that's the primary vehicle for expression with music in our daily experience. Why limit when you could nurture innate musicality to allow them to express music in many different ways!

We say "Yuh cah be going to a music class in T&T and not play music of your own country!"
