Children raised bilingually are more adept at learning.

So baby has been babbling and you're so excited about what baby's first words will be. The furthest thing from your mind might be introducing a second language but did you know that bilingualism from birth can actually help your child become a better learner?

“Studies show that 7-month old infants, raised with two languages from birth display improved cognitive control abilities compared with matched monolingual” according to the Cognitive Neuroscience Sector, Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Avanzati, Itali.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Bilingual babies have been shown scientifically to have an amazing ability to be more adept at learning new rules, not only in language but also sensory processing of information in their environment in greater detail. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Now let’s add music! For very young children, navigating a multilingual musical environment imparts advantages that go way beyond just language.

It doesn’t take much effort to begin your bilingual journey. Start with simple words that are associated with movement and keep reinforcing them when interacting with your baby and even make it into a song.eg. While changing baby’s diapers, sing about “mi bebé” - my baby, call baby’s name and make babbling sounds with changes in pitch which will all help with your child’s receptive and expressive language. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
